Compassion Food:
Nourished Bodies Flourish

We provide fresh, nutritious food and supportive resources so families can thrive with dignity, hope, and belonging.

ABOUT

Compassion Food addresses hunger through three weekly community food markets in Central and East Contra Costa County, providing fresh, nutritious food that supports dignity and community health.

Why it matters

About 1 in 10 people in Contra Costa County — nearly 90,000 residents — experience food insecurity, and more than 12% of children live in households that struggle to get enough food.

Food Markets

Choice-based food markets offering fresh produce and pantry staples—so families can select dignified, accessible groceries that meet their needs.

Food for Neighbors Experiencing Homelessness

Providing food support through our Clean Start program, meeting immediate needs while fostering trust, dignity, and connection.

Compassion Warehouse

Operating a 3,000-square-foot warehouse in partnership with Convoy of Hope to distribute thousands of pounds of food and essential resources each year.

School Partnerships

Supporting local school pantries to ensure students and families have consistent access to nutritious food.

Who we serve
